**Augusto Cury leads trader expectations for third place in Brazil’s October 4 first-round presidential vote.** Recent national polls from Datafolha, Quaest, PoderData, and AtlasIntel place the Avante candidate in that spot with 8–11% support after sharp gains tied to television interviews and debates in late August. These appearances highlighted his self-described centrist positioning and drew support from independents and younger voters disillusioned with polarization between frontrunners Lula (PT, ~37–43%) and Flávio Bolsonaro (PL, ~29–34%). Renan Santos (Missão) and Ronaldo Caiado (PSD) trail in single digits and register lower implied probabilities. The race remains fluid with roughly a month until voting, and further shifts in undecided voters or turnout among key blocs could alter final placements.
