Augusto Cury has surged into third place in recent Brazilian presidential polls, driving the Polymarket consensus that he will finish there in the October 4 first round. The Avante candidate rose from low single digits to 8–11% in late August and early September surveys by Datafolha, Quaest, PoderData, and others, passing Renan Santos (Mission) at around 3% and Ronaldo Caiado (PSD) at 1–4%. Cury’s gains stem from high-visibility TV interviews, rapid social-media growth exceeding two million new Instagram followers in days, and appeal to independent voters seeking an alternative to the Lula–Flávio Bolsonaro polarization. Established names such as Caiado and Romeu Zema (Novo) have not matched this momentum, leaving limited vote share for other contenders in a contest dominated by the top two.
