Ukrainian civil airspace has remained closed to commercial operations since February 2022 amid the Russia-Ukraine conflict, with a standing NOTAM and international advisories prohibiting landings or takeoffs at Boryspil International Airport. Trader sentiment centers on the security environment, including recent Russian strikes near Kyiv and the airport in late August and early September 2026 that underscore persistent risks. The facility itself stays operationally maintained with staff training, infrastructure upgrades, and international airline interest intact, supported by a government working group formed in March 2026 to prepare phased reopening once conditions allow. Any resumption hinges on verifiable improvements in air defense, de-escalation signals, or regulatory clearance rather than infrastructure readiness alone, with no scheduled events guaranteeing near-term flights.

This market will resolve to "Yes" if at least one manned aircraft successfully lands at or takes off from Boryspil International Airport between market creation and the specified date, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No".
Eligible flights include any manned fixed-wing aircraft or rotorcraft (helicopter), regardless of registration, owner, or purpose (e.g., commercial passenger, cargo, military transport, diplomatic or state flight, technical ferry, or emergency landing).
Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs, drones, or loitering munitions), touch-and-go passes without a full touchdown and stop or taxi, and landings or departures occurring outside the physical boundaries of Boryspil International Airport will not count toward the resolution of this market.
The primary resolution source will be verified radar and ADS-B flight tracking data (e.g., Flightradar24, ADS-B Exchange) and official announcements from Boryspil International Airport, the State Aviation Administration of Ukraine, or the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine; however, a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.
