Current National Weather Service and model guidance point to overnight lows in the upper 70s for Houston on September 7, 2026, driven by a warm, humid airmass with dew points near 75°F, light variable winds, and limited nocturnal radiative cooling under partly cloudy skies. These conditions suppress the typical seasonal drop toward the 74.5°F climatological average low, keeping minimum temperatures clustered in the 78–81°F range across ensembles. Differentiation among closely matched market bins (72–85°F) stems from small forecast spreads in cloud cover, wind direction shifts, and any late-day thunderstorm outflow that could briefly enhance mixing or cooling. With resolution two days away, traders weigh the latest NHC and local model updates against historical September variability, where extremes below 70°F remain rare without strong frontal passage.
