Persistent humidity and overnight cloud cover from scattered thunderstorms are anchoring trader expectations for Houston's minimum temperature on September 5 near the upper 70s, with market-implied odds clustered tightly around 74–77 °F. Light easterly winds and high dew points near 75 °F limit radiational cooling under mostly cloudy skies, while model consensus from NOAA and local forecasts projects an overnight low of 78 °F amid 50 % storm chances. Subtle differences in timing of clearing skies or wind shifts could push readings a degree or two lower toward the 74–75 °F bin, explaining the near-even probabilities across those leading outcomes versus lower odds for 78–79 °F. Updated National Weather Service guidance and hourly observations through midnight remain the key near-term catalysts for any final adjustments.
