Persistent southwest monsoon activity, including heavy rainfall warnings from PAGASA, has produced widespread cloud cover and thunderstorms over Metro Manila on September 5, limiting solar heating and keeping daytime maxima suppressed near 28°C according to multiple forecast models. This aligns with the market's strong 97.5% implied probability for a 29°C high, consistent with observed conditions around 27–28°C amid 80–100% humidity, moderate-to-strong westerly winds, and precipitation totals of 25–50 mm or more. Historical September averages near 30–31°C provide context, but the current pattern deviates due to enhanced monsoon flow. A rapid clearing of clouds or delayed rainfall could allow brief warming toward 30°C, though model consensus and ongoing advisories make this unlikely before resolution.
