Official forecasts from the National Weather Service and other meteorological sources indicate a high near 99°F for Atlanta on September 5, 2026, under sunny skies with light northwest winds and minimal afternoon cloud cover, supporting the market's leading 98-99°F outcome at 54.5% implied probability. Persistent high pressure, elevated dew points near 70°F, and heat indices exceeding 100°F reflect strong surface heating and limited mixing, consistent with recent mid-90s readings and a heat advisory. Historical September 5 maxima average 86°F with a 98°F record from 1954, but current model consensus favors upper 90s to low 100s absent unexpected convective cooling. Afternoon observations from primary stations will determine the final daily maximum.
