Current National Weather Service and model guidance for Houston on September 6 points to persistent southerly flow, high dew points near 75°F, and scattered thunderstorms limiting overnight radiational cooling, supporting a low in the upper 70s. This aligns with the market’s leading 78-79°F bin at 44.5% implied probability, followed closely by 76-77°F. Early September 2026 observations show similar overnight minima in the mid-to-upper 70s amid above-average warmth and humidity, consistent with the 74.6°F climatological average for the date. Traders appear to discount stronger cooling scenarios, as no significant frontal passage is expected before resolution.
