Forecasts from the National Weather Service and other models indicate a sunny, hot day in Dallas on September 5 with a projected high near 98–100°F under southerly flow and minimal cloud cover, supporting the market’s heaviest weighting on 98–99°F and 100–101°F outcomes. Persistent high pressure and warm advection from the Gulf have maintained temperatures 5–8°F above the 1991–2020 average high of 92.8°F for the date, consistent with recent readings of 99–100°F on September 3–4. Heat indices could reach 105–107°F due to humidity, but dry air aloft and light winds favor efficient daytime heating without convective cooling. Model consensus shows low chance of deviation into the low 90s or above 102°F absent unexpected changes in steering flow or moisture return.
