Recent polling ahead of the October 5 election shows the Parti Québécois leading in popular vote but projected to fall short of a majority, leaving the contest for the most seats in second place tightly contested between the Parti Libéral du Québec and the Coalition Avenir Québec. Latest surveys from Léger, Pallas Data, and others indicate the PLQ rebounding to 22-23% support with strength concentrated in the Montreal region, while the CAQ has slipped to around 21-23% amid declining momentum for its new leader. Vote distribution across ridings, regional strongholds, and the outcome of remaining leaders’ debates could determine seat efficiency and shift which party secures official opposition status.
