Parliamentary elections are scheduled to be held in Sweden on September 13, 2026. This market will resolve to the next individual who is officially appointed and assumes office as Prime Minister of Sweden following the next parliamentary election. To count for resolution, the individual must officially assume office. Any interim or caretaker Prime Minister will not count toward the resolution of this market. If no such Prime Minister assumes office by June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to “Other”. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the Government of Sweden; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Magdalena Andersson leads the Social Democratic opposition bloc, which maintains a polling advantage of 4.7 to 6.8 points over Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson’s Tidö parties and Sweden Democrats support ahead of the September 13 parliamentary election. Recent surveys from Indikator Opinion, Ipsos, and others show the opposition bloc at 51–52 percent, narrowing from larger June margins but still projected to secure enough seats for a government shift. Campaign dynamics center on cost-of-living pressures, crime, energy, and immigration, with a late-August school attack prompting temporary pauses in events. Kristersson’s bloc has gained modestly on stability messaging, yet the Liberals remain below the 4 percent threshold. Andersson’s position as the largest party’s leader underpins the market’s strong implied probability for her as the next prime minister, while smaller-party figures face structural barriers from bloc arithmetic and historical confirmation patterns.
