**The near-even 50.5% odds on Mega Charizard Y ex rising by August 31 reflect a tug-of-war between Charizard’s perennial collector appeal and recent market cooling.** The card’s Mega Hyper Rare from the Ascended Heroes set has seen raw prices slip from the mid-$400s toward the $360–$410 range over the past month amid broader TCG corrections and post-release supply. Fresh August 2026 drops—including First Partner Illustration Collection packs and Mega Evolution tins—add liquidity that could pressure values short-term. At the same time, strong secondary-market volume, PSA 10 premiums holding above $2,000, and Charizard’s status as a cultural flagship keep demand resilient. With only days left before the August 31 snapshot, any late-month sales spikes, grading pop reports, or surprise restocks could quickly tilt trader consensus.
