The open Rosemont seat, vacated by independent incumbent Vincent Marissal, has produced a tight contest between Parti Québécois nominee Pierre-Luc Brillant and Québec solidaire candidate Gisèle Pouhe Njall ahead of the October 5 vote. Provincial polling trends showing PQ strength have lifted Brillant to a narrow trader edge, yet QS maintains competitive support in this Montreal riding where the party dominated in 2022. Key factors sustaining the deadlock include voter priorities around hospital reconstruction, housing affordability, and cultural issues, alongside the absence of an entrenched incumbent. Developments such as party leader visits, debate performances, or shifts in turnout among francophone and progressive voters could widen the gap before election day.
