The riding features a first-past-the-post contest among established parties, with Blais benefiting from provincial polling trends that have lifted PQ support in Mauricie since the campaign launch in late August. Allaire’s decision to seek another term after initially signaling retirement has kept CAQ support intact locally, while Liberal, Conservative, and Québec solidaire candidates split remaining votes. Nominations close September 17, followed by advance voting on September 27–28 and election day on October 5, leaving room for late shifts from leader debates or turnout patterns in this historically competitive district.
