Persistent cloud cover, widespread rainfall, and moderate westerly winds associated with a passing weather system are suppressing daytime heating in Taipei, keeping the September 6 maximum well below the early-September climatological average of roughly 30–31 °C. Official guidance from Taiwan’s Central Weather Administration and ensemble model consensus point to a peak between 26–29 °C, with the tight market clustering at 27–29 °C reflecting uncertainty over the exact timing and intensity of showers that can shave 1–2 °C off the daily high. Brief breaks in the overcast or delayed precipitation could allow brief warming toward 30 °C, while sustained rain and thicker cloud decks favor the lower end of that range; resolution hinges on the final verified hourly observations from the Taipei station.
