Forecast models from sources including the China Meteorological Administration indicate a peak temperature near 35°C in Chongqing on September 5, driven by typical late-summer subtropical high pressure, light southeasterly winds, and partly cloudy skies limiting further intensification. Historical September averages hover around 28–29°C, but recent days have shown elevated readings near 34–36°C amid persistent warmth and moderate humidity. Official station measurements, which resolve the market, incorporate urban heat island effects and precise timing of the daily maximum. Trader consensus heavily favors 35°C at 84% implied probability, with only modest odds on 36°C, reflecting limited upside potential from current steering patterns and no incoming frontal systems to alter the trajectory before resolution.
