Official National Weather Service forecasts for Austin on September 6, 2026, center on highs of 95–96°F under partly cloudy skies with light southeast winds and only a 20% chance of afternoon showers or thunderstorms, aligning with the market’s leading 94–95°F bin at 46.5% implied probability. This outlook reflects typical early-September Central Texas conditions—warm, moist southerly flow beneath weak high pressure—slightly above the 1991–2020 climatological average high of 93.4°F. Recent model runs show limited spread, with most guidance holding temperatures in the mid-90s and only modest cooling possible from increased cloud cover or brief convection. Heat indices near 105°F underscore persistent moisture but do not alter the dry-bulb maximum. With resolution based on the official Austin-Bergstrom observation the following day, traders are weighting the narrow forecast consensus while monitoring any last-minute NWS updates for shifts into the 92–93°F or 96–97°F ranges.
