Chang Chia-chun's nomination by the Kuomintang in March 2026 positions her as the frontrunner in the November 28 Yunlin County magistrate race against Democratic Progressive Party nominee Liu Chien-kuo, with trader consensus reflecting her family's longstanding local influence and the KMT's broader organizational push ahead of the local elections. Recent party rallies and candidate coordination in July have reinforced momentum for KMT contenders, while Yunlin's history of competitive shifts between the two major parties keeps the contest sensitive to turnout among rural voters and swing blocs. The tight positioning among listed alternatives underscores uncertainty over minor candidates splitting votes or late campaign developments altering the balance, with no dominant polling surge yet separating the main contenders ahead of the vote.
