Chung Tung-chin holds a dominant position in the Miaoli County magistrate race ahead of the November 28, 2026, local elections, reflecting his incumbency advantage and the county’s long record of supporting KMT-aligned or independent candidates. The Democratic Progressive Party’s late-2025 nomination of Chen Pin-an has produced limited movement in trader assessments, consistent with Miaoli’s historical voting patterns and modest DPP performance in prior cycles. Recent administrative recognitions for the incumbent have reinforced continuity expectations without notable shifts from opposition campaigns or polling crosscurrents. With roughly three months remaining, scheduled nomination deadlines and any late candidate announcements could still introduce volatility, though current consensus aligns with structural and incumbency factors favoring the leader.
