Recent NWS and ensemble model guidance points to an overnight low in the mid-70s for Atlanta on September 1, driven by a warm, moist airmass under high pressure with light easterly winds and clear skies limiting radiative cooling. This setup follows several days of highs near 93–95°F that have kept surface temperatures elevated, consistent with climatological norms for late summer when average September 1 lows hover near 69°F. Market-implied odds cluster tightly around 72–75°F because small differences in forecast dew points, boundary-layer mixing, or minor model spread in steering flow could shift the minimum by a degree or two, while cooler outcomes below 70°F would require an unexpected cold-air intrusion not currently indicated.
