Current forecasts from the National Weather Service and supporting models indicate a high in the mid-90s for Houston on September 13, 2026, driven by mostly sunny skies, southerly flow, and elevated dew points near 75°F that sustain strong heating despite a 40-50% chance of afternoon thunderstorms. This setup aligns with climatological norms for early September, where average highs reach about 90°F, but recent model runs and observed trends from prior days support peak readings near 93-94°F before any convective cooling. Market-implied odds favor the 92-93°F bin as the consensus reflects these conditions, with limited upside risk from storms or cloud cover and downside constrained by persistent humidity and solar input. Updated NHC and local briefings through the afternoon will refine the exact maximum.
