Persistent high pressure and a prolonged dry spell across North Texas drove extreme heat on September 16, with official observations at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport recording a maximum of 100°F under mostly clear skies and southerly flow. This aligned with broader September trends of record triple-digit days, well above the 1991–2020 normal high near 89°F, sustaining trader consensus around the 98–99°F bin. Official National Weather Service data and model guidance reinforced this narrow range, leaving minimal room for deviation from measurement timing, station specifics, or minor cooling influences. Only an unexpected localized shift or data revision would realistically alter the outcome.
