The heavily Republican tilt of Texas's 13th congressional district, anchored in the Panhandle and carried by Donald Trump by more than 34 points in the prior cycle, underpins the Republican Party's 94.5% market consensus for the November 2026 general election. Incumbent Ronny Jackson secured his party's nomination by a wide margin in the March primary and faces Democratic nominee Mark Nair in a seat rated Solid Republican across nonpartisan forecasting outlets. Low Democratic fundraising and turnout potential in this rural, conservative district further reinforce trader expectations. Scenarios that could narrow the gap include an unusually strong national Democratic midterm environment, significant Republican candidate vulnerabilities on issues such as scandals or health events, or unusual shifts in early or absentee voting patterns, though historical base rates and current polling fundamentals suggest limited near-term movement.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
