Ralph Norman holds a commanding position in the Spartanburg County portion of the August 25 Republican Senate runoff due to his decisive 38 percent showing there in the August 11 special primary, where he outpaced Darline Graham by 14 points amid low turnout. Norman’s established base in the Upstate, including strong performance across his congressional district and neighboring counties, aligns with the region’s conservative electorate that has previously favored hard-line candidates over establishment figures. Graham, appointed to finish her brother’s term and backed by President Trump, carried more statewide counties but trailed significantly in Spartanburg. With early voting already underway and only two days remaining before the runoff, Norman’s local organizational edge and voter familiarity limit realistic paths for Graham to close the gap in this specific county.
