Recent polls ahead of Berlin’s September 20 state election show Alliance 90/The Greens consistently ahead of the SPD in projected vote share, typically 16-17% versus 12-15%. The SPD has continued to lose ground in surveys from Forsa, INSA, and Civey through mid-August, while the Greens have held steadier amid a fragmented field where the Left leads overall. The current CDU-SPD governing coalition faces low re-election prospects, with no two-party majority feasible in most models. Traders’ consensus reflects these sustained polling differentials and the absence of late developments that would reverse the Greens’ relative positioning against the Social Democrats.
