Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive officially confirmed Grand Theft Auto VI’s standard edition at $79.99 ahead of pre-orders, directly resolving the market in favor of “No” with overwhelming trader consensus. This pricing aligns with the industry shift toward $70–$80 base prices for major console blockbusters while keeping the Ultimate Edition at $99.99, avoiding the consumer backlash that a $100 standard tag would likely trigger. Historical GTA and Rockstar releases, combined with executive comments favoring accessible pricing to maximize volume, reinforced expectations. With the November 19, 2026 launch still months away, the only realistic upset would require an unprecedented last-minute price hike on the core edition, an outcome traders view as highly improbable given the firm announcement.
