Karoline Leavitt’s announced departure at the end of August has opened a competitive field for White House press secretary, with traders assigning the highest probabilities to insiders and loyalists such as Margo Martin, Anna Kelly, and Scott Jennings while spreading the balance across dozens of other names near even odds. Recent developments, including the lack of a named successor and signals that a permanent choice may follow the midterms, have kept the market fragmented as participants weigh factors like briefing-room experience, media combativeness, and proximity to Trump. No single candidate has consolidated support, leaving implied probabilities tightly bunched and sensitive to any official announcement or endorsement that could shift the consensus before resolution.
