Recent polls from Datafolha and Quaest show Marília Campos (PT) leading narrowly for one of Minas Gerais’s two Senate seats on October 4, with Carlos Viana (PSD), Aécio Neves (PSDB), Domingos Sávio (PL), and Marcelo Aro (PP) clustered within a few points behind amid 20-30% undecided or blank/null responses. Aécio’s late confirmation of his candidacy has further fragmented the field without establishing a clear hierarchy. Because voters select two distinct candidates, second-place positioning hinges on how the remaining undecided share splits among these contenders and lower-polling names. This produces the tight market pricing, with separation likely to emerge only from final-week turnout patterns, regional strongholds, or last-minute campaign developments.
