The Changhua County magistrate race remains tightly contested ahead of Taiwan's November 28, 2026, local elections, with trader odds reflecting multiple viable contenders from the DPP and KMT alongside independents and lower-profile options. Recent party activity, including the KMT's July 2026 candidate rally and earlier nomination considerations, has kept the field fluid, while DPP legislators such as Chen Su-yueh and Huang Hsiu-fang, along with figures like Chiu Chien-fu weighing independent bids, highlight internal factional dynamics and vote-splitting risks. Historical patterns in county races show that turnout in key townships, last-minute endorsements, and any formal party primary resolutions could quickly shift momentum by consolidating support behind one or two frontrunners.
