California's 2nd congressional district maintains a strong Democratic partisan lean of roughly D+13, reflected in the incumbent Jared Huffman's consistent double-digit victories, including 71.9% in 2024. Huffman advanced comfortably through the June 2026 primary against Republican Robin Littau, who captured limited support in the top-two contest. The district's composition, spanning coastal and northern California counties with reliable Democratic turnout patterns, has produced no recent polling shifts or competitive indicators ahead of the November 3 general election. Trader consensus at 93.5% for a Democratic win aligns with these structural factors. A late scandal, health event affecting the incumbent, or unprecedented national Republican surge could narrow margins, though such developments remain uncommon in this seat.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting.
