The 2026 St. Petersburg mayoral election will be held on August 18, 2026, to elect the mayor of St. Petersburg, Florida. If no candidate receives a majority of the vote, a runoff election will be held on November 3, 2026. This market will resolve according to the candidate who becomes the next mayor of St. Petersburg as a result of this election. Temporary, interim, or placeholder mayors appointed before the election will not be considered. If the result of this election isn't known by April 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other". The primary resolution source for this market will be a consensus of credible reporting; however, if there is any ambiguity in the results, this market will resolve according to official information from the City of St. Petersburg or the State of Florida.Charlie Crist's decisive primary victory on August 18, 2026, with approximately 35-36% of the vote, has anchored trader consensus around his prospects in the November 3 general election runoff against incumbent Ken Welch, who finished second at roughly 20-21%. Because no candidate reached a majority, the top two advance under the city's nonpartisan rules, and Crist's margin has shifted implied probabilities sharply in his favor. Other candidates including Brandi Gabbard, Jim Large, Maria Scruggs, Kevin Batdorf, and Paul Congemi received far lower shares and are viewed as unlikely to influence the head-to-head outcome. Historical patterns in Florida local races and Crist's statewide name recognition further support current market positioning ahead of the runoff.
