This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the lowest temperature recorded by NOAA at the Los Angeles International Airport Station in degrees Fahrenheit on 7 Sep '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the lowest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=klax This market will resolve off of the Hourly Data provided using the "Show Hourly Data" button. If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source. In the event that there is no data for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to US Units w/ kts" button until the relevant table displays °F. This market will resolve once the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source, or by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, whichever comes first. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Fahrenheit (eg, 21°F). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.**Forecasts for the minimum temperature in Los Angeles on September 7, 2026 (Labor Day), currently cluster in the upper 60s to low 70s°F, creating a near-even split in trader sentiment between cooler (59°F or below at 50% implied probability) and warmer (78°F or higher at 49%) outcomes.** Official and model guidance from the National Weather Service, WeatherBug, and Yr.no indicate an overnight low near 68–74°F at stations like LAX and downtown, driven by a mix of onshore southwest flow, partial marine-layer influence, and lingering moisture from an early-season trough or possible tropical remnants. This setup produces mild overnight temperatures well above the late-summer climatological average low of ~64°F, with daytime highs in the mid-to-upper 80s under partly cloudy skies. Key differentiating factors include the strength and timing of any marine push or cloud cover versus clearing that allows radiational cooling; recent model runs show modest spread in boundary-layer moisture and wind direction, which can shift the minimum by several degrees. With resolution hinging on the precise early-morning reading, traders are weighting the balance between typical September marine moderation and the warmer, drier pattern seen in early September 2026 observations. Updated NWS and ensemble guidance over the next 48 hours will likely narrow this range.
