Persistent high pressure and southerly flow from the Gulf of Mexico maintain warm, humid conditions across southeast Texas, with National Weather Service guidance and ensemble models projecting overnight lows near 79–81°F for Houston on September 15. This pattern, reinforced by a stalled subtropical ridge, has produced above-average minimum temperatures throughout early September and limits the potential for radiational cooling or frontal passages that could drive readings to 71°F or below. Afternoon heating supports highs in the mid-90s, yet the market’s near-even split between the sub-72°F and 90°F+ extremes reflects trader focus on tail risks from any unexpected model shift or localized sea-breeze effects rather than the consensus central tendency around 80°F. Updated short-range guidance and evening observations will refine these probabilities ahead of market resolution.
