Official observations from National Weather Service stations in the Denver area recorded a daily maximum of 88–89°F on September 16, 2026, aligning with the market’s near-certain pricing for that bin. Recent model runs and surface analyses showed a brief warm-air surge under clear skies and light winds, pushing temperatures several degrees above the 79°F seasonal normal before afternoon mixing cooled readings. This outcome fits within the upper end of historical September highs for the date while remaining well below all-time records near 95°F. Traders priced in the result once preliminary climatological reports confirmed the peak, leaving minimal room for revision unless final quality-controlled data shifts the official value outside the narrow range.
