Silver (XAG/USD) trades near $62–64 per ounce in early August 2026 after a volatile 2025 rally that pushed prices above $80 amid structural supply deficits and surging industrial offtake. Over 50% of demand now stems from solar photovoltaics, electric vehicles, electronics, and semiconductors, with the Silver Institute projecting another record deficit exceeding 200 million ounces in 2026. Near-term price action hinges on U.S. inflation readings, Federal Reserve communications on the policy rate path, Treasury yields, and the U.S. dollar index, alongside any escalation in geopolitical safe-haven flows. Traders will also track COMEX inventories and gold-silver ratio movements for signals on whether industrial momentum can offset potential monetary-policy headwinds during the August 10–16 window.
