This market will resolve according to the winner of the 2026 Texas gubernatorial election. A candidate shall be considered to represent a party in the event that he or she is the nominee of the party in question. Candidates other than the Democratic or Republican nominee (e.g., Greens, Libertarian, independent) may be added at a later date. Candidates who run as independents will not be encompassed by the “Democrat” or “Republican” options regardless of any affiliation they may have with the party. The resolution source for this market is the Associated Press, Fox News, and NBC. This market will resolve once all three sources call the race for the same candidate. If all three sources haven’t called the race in this state for the same candidate, this market will resolve based on the official certification.Greg Abbott holds a strong position as the Republican incumbent seeking a fourth term in the November 2026 Texas gubernatorial election, backed by dominant fundraising of roughly $67 million cash on hand compared to Gina Hinojosa’s $3 million and endorsements including from President Trump. Recent polling averages show Abbott ahead by about 3–6 points among likely voters, with some surveys tightening to within the margin of error, though no Democrat has won the office since 1990. Hinojosa, the Democratic nominee and state representative, has focused on education policy, data center development, and affordability measures such as rebates from the rainy day fund, while Abbott emphasizes property tax relief and border security. These dynamics, combined with Texas’s Republican lean and Abbott’s primary performance exceeding 80 percent, underpin the current trader consensus reflected in market pricing.
