The Parti Québécois holds a clear lead in recent polling aggregates and seat projections ahead of the October 5 election, driven by consistent support among francophone voters that translates efficiently under first-past-the-post rules despite popular vote shares near 29-30%. Its pledge for a sovereignty referendum by 2030 has not eroded this edge, as opposition to independence remains stable near 70%. The Coalition Avenir Québec has narrowed the gap to around 24% under new leader Christine Fréchette through gains among older voters, positioning it as the main challenger in many ridings. The Quebec Liberal Party has slipped to roughly 22% amid softer non-francophone backing, while smaller parties trail far behind. Upcoming debates and voter firmness levels around 60% keep the outcome sensitive to late shifts in turnout and regional contests.
