Recent polling shows the Quebec election campaign, underway since late August for the October 5 vote, remains fluid for second place. A Synopsis survey conducted August 24-26 found the CAQ surging seven points to tie the leading PQ at 27-28 percent, while the PLQ fell six points to 20 percent amid weak francophone support. Seat projections from 338Canada and Poliwave indicate the Liberals could still secure second via Montreal concentration despite lower overall support, creating a close contest with the CAQ. The ongoing Canada-U.S. trade tensions and regional voting patterns continue to shape trader assessments of which party finishes ahead of the others.
