The Parti Québécois holds the clearest path to forming the next government in the October 2026 Quebec election, driven by consistent leads among Francophone voters and strong performances in recent by-elections. Polling aggregates show the PQ ahead or tied in popular vote with the Quebec Liberal Party, while the governing Coalition Avenir Québec trails despite modest gains under its new leader. Seat projections favor the PQ due to more efficient vote distribution outside Montreal, reflecting the party's sovereignist positioning and the CAQ's post-Legault decline. Traders price these dynamics as the dominant factors heading into the campaign, with limited scope for rapid shifts absent major leadership or policy developments in the coming months.
