OpenAI’s confidential S-1 filing in May 2026 and its March private round at an $852 billion valuation set the baseline for any IPO market-cap outcome, with revenue run-rate reported near $24 billion annually and enterprise contributing over 40 percent. Traders are pricing the debut against rapid AI-sector multiple compression, ongoing losses despite fourfold faster growth than peers at similar stages, and management’s June pivot toward a potential 2027 listing to secure a $1 trillion target. Key near-term catalysts include September–December 2026 earnings visibility, regulatory clarity on AI oversight, and comparable tech IPO pricing that could shift implied multiples. Market-implied odds reflect both the company’s capital-raising momentum and uncertainty around sustained profitability and competitive positioning versus Anthropic and hyperscalers.

In the event of an interruption in the course of the normal trading session on OpenAI's first day of trading (e.g., a circuit breaker or half-day), the market will resolve according to the official closing price of the abbreviated session. If no such official closing price is published, the market will resolve according to the next trading day on which an official closing price is published, treating that as the first day of trading.
