This market will resolve according to the next individual to formally assume the position of Attorney General of the United States between market creation and January 19, 2029, 11:59 PM ET. A person will be considered to formally assume the position of Attorney General of the United States if they are appointed to the position by the President and confirmed by the Senate, or if they assume the position through a recess appointment. Acting or interim holders of the specified position do not qualify. If no individual assumes the position by January 19, 2029 at 11:59PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source for this market will be official information from the White House or United States Senate; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Trump nominated Todd Blanche, his former personal lawyer and current acting attorney general since Pam Bondi's April 2026 dismissal, for the permanent role in early June, establishing him as the clear frontrunner in trader consensus at 65 percent. Senate Judiciary Committee proceedings have advanced amid questions over Blanche's loyalty to the president, with a recent postponement of the confirmation vote reflecting procedural holds and efforts to build support. Lower probabilities for alternatives such as Eric Schmitt, Lee Zeldin, Jeff Clark, and others stem from the absence of comparable official endorsements or acting roles, though any reversal in Blanche's confirmation path could elevate these options. The market reflects real-money assessments of the confirmation timeline and potential shifts before resolution.
