**Forecast consensus from the Met Office and GFS models points to a daytime maximum near 20–21°C in London on September 17, 2026, supporting the market’s heavy weighting toward those outcomes.** Westerly breezes, increasing cloud cover, and patchy rain clearing by midday should limit stronger warming, while mild overnight lows near 11–14°C provide a modest baseline. These conditions align with typical mid-September patterns rather than anomalous heat or rapid cooling. Model runs show limited spread, with afternoon temperatures most likely peaking in the low 20s Celsius under partly cloudy skies. Updated official guidance or late shifts in cloud cover remain the main variables that could nudge the exact high between 20°C and 21°C.
