Recent U.S. Treasury announcements expanding longer-dated bond buybacks to at least $4 billion per operation have weighed on the dollar and fueled fiscal-dominance concerns, driving gold (XAU/USD) to three-month highs near $4,630 on August 21 with a decisive breakout above the 200-day moving average. This technical shift, combined with heightened Middle East geopolitical risks and softer U.S. jobs data tempering September Fed hike odds to around 35%, has supported bullish momentum toward $4,700. Traders are monitoring dollar strength, Treasury yields, and any further central bank communications for shifts in near-term price action.
