The US Dollar Index (DXY) trades near 98.8 amid expectations for Federal Reserve policy adjustments following softer July inflation and employment data. Recent FOMC minutes highlighted resilient US growth supporting dollar inflows, yet fiscal risks and uncertain rate paths weigh on sentiment. Core PCE inflation and the second-quarter GDP revision scheduled for August 26 represent key near-term catalysts that could shift rate expectations and Treasury yields. Broader drivers include interest-rate differentials versus major economies, safe-haven flows, and labor-market resilience, with traders monitoring these releases for signals on the monetary policy trajectory versus current market-implied odds.
