Steven Del Duca, the incumbent mayor of Vaughan, holds a dominant position in the October 26, 2026 municipal election race, with nominations closing on August 21. His May 2026 re-election announcement, emphasis on a potential tax freeze, crime reduction, and traffic relief align with voter priorities shown in prior polling, where he maintained around 63% approval. Challengers such as Parveen Bola, who received under 3% in 2022, and others like Danny DeSantis face structural barriers including lower name recognition and limited recent momentum. Traders appear to price in the typical incumbency edge in Ontario municipal contests, though late developments in voter turnout or ward-specific issues could influence final margins.
