Official National Weather Service observations from Chicago stations, including Midway, recorded an overnight minimum of 66°F on August 29, 2026, aligning closely with the 1991–2020 climatological normal low of 64–65°F for late August under typical southerly flow and light rain conditions that limited radiative cooling. This data-driven outcome produced the market's 100% consensus on 64–65°F, as traders incorporated verified station readings rather than models. A realistic challenge would require a revised official report from the primary resolution station showing a lower value due to a localized cold pocket or instrumentation adjustment, though such revisions are rare after initial quality control.
