This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by NOAA at the William P. Hobby Airport Station in degrees Fahrenheit on 31 Aug '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=khou This market will resolve off of the Hourly Data provided using the "Show Hourly Data" button. If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to US Units w/ kts" button until the relevant table displays °F. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Fahrenheit (eg, 21°F). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.**Persistent late-summer heat under mostly sunny skies with high humidity and light winds positions 94–96°F as the most likely range for Houston’s daily high on August 31.** Official National Weather Service and private forecasts converge on a maximum near 94–96°F (mid-90s), with heat indices reaching 104–105°F amid dew points in the mid-70s. This reflects the ongoing pattern of above-normal temperatures across southeast Texas, where recent days have featured highs of 96–101°F and minimal cooling overnight. A slight afternoon thunderstorm chance (20–30%) after 1 p.m. introduces modest uncertainty but is unlikely to suppress the peak reading substantially, given the strong daytime heating and southerly flow. Historical averages for the date are lower (~92°F), yet current model guidance and the lack of a strong frontal passage keep probabilities centered on the upper 90s. Traders appear to weigh the consensus forecast heavily, with the 94–95°F bin capturing the largest share of implied probability as the most probable single outcome under these stable conditions.
