**Persistent cool, unsettled conditions from a cut-off low and northwesterly flow are anchoring trader expectations for Cape Town’s September 14 maximum near 18 °C.** Official guidance and ensemble forecasts show widespread cloud cover, showers, and brisk NW winds limiting daytime heating, with consensus highs clustered between 16–18 °C. This aligns with the market’s leading outcomes—18 °C (38.5 %), 19 °C (24.5 %), and 17 °C (21.5 %)—while lower probabilities on 20 °C+ reflect limited potential for clearing or warmer advection. September climatology places the long-term average maximum near 19 °C, so current model runs represent a modest negative anomaly driven by the synoptic setup rather than seasonal norms. Fresh model updates and any observed clearing tomorrow morning remain the key near-term catalysts that could shift implied probabilities.
