Forecast models and official guidance from sources like the National Weather Service project a sunny day with light southerly winds, supporting a daily maximum near 98–99°F for Austin on August 30—slightly above the 1991–2020 average high of 94.8°F but consistent with late-summer patterns under high pressure. Consensus across multiple forecasts centers on upper 90s to low 100s, with minimal cloud cover or precipitation risk keeping temperatures from deviating sharply. This aligns with the market’s heavy weighting toward 98–99°F (65.5% implied probability) versus 100–101°F (31%), as traders incorporate the latest runs showing limited intensification potential from typical August heating and humidity. Afternoon heat indices may exceed 100°F, but resolution hinges on the official highest observed temperature.
