This market will resolve according to the candidate who wins the 2026 Alaska gubernatorial election currently scheduled for November 3, 2026. If the results of the election are not confirmed by July 31, 2027, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source for this market is the Associated Press, Fox News, and NBC. This market will resolve once all three sources call the race for the same candidate. If all three sources haven’t called the race in Alaska for the same candidate, this market will resolve based on official certification.**Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins leads the Alaska governor market at 59.8% after consolidating Democratic support in the August 18 open primary for the open seat left by term-limited Republican incumbent Mike Dunleavy.** He finished first with 22.5% of the vote, ahead of fellow Democrat Tom Begich at 20.8%. Begich withdrew shortly after and endorsed Kreiss-Tomkins, unifying the Democratic side for the November 3 ranked-choice general election. Republican votes split across a crowded field, with businesswoman and talk-show host Bernadette Wilson (great-niece of former governor Wally Hickel) advancing as the top GOP finisher at 10%, followed by former Anchorage mayor Dave Bronson at 8.1% and others including former attorney general Treg Taylor (initially disqualified over financial disclosures, with running mate Candi English advancing in his place). This fragmentation, combined with voter fatigue toward the prior Republican administration, has elevated Kreiss-Tomkins’ position in trader assessments despite the state’s Republican lean and limited post-primary polling. Wilson sits at 33% as the leading Republican option, while the remaining field trails below 3%. The race’s structure—open primary followed by RCV among four candidates—amplifies the impact of the Democratic consolidation and GOP division on current implied probabilities. No major new developments have shifted the field since early September.
